L.A.B.A. generally
L.A.B.A. (Laboratory Assistant and Biobanking Application) is a professional software specialised for biomedical, biotechnological and biochemical laboratories. With three separated modules L.A.B.A. meets versatile demands of a modern bioscientific laboratory:
- Scientific module - for describing, searching and localising of laboratory's reagents such as antibodies, cell lines, bacteria, plasmids, siRNA, DNA oligonucleotides, etc.
- Biobanking module - for describing, searching and localising human biospecimens such as cells and tissue samples as well their derivatives like DNA, RNA, proteins and cell lines.
- Administrative module - for managing e-ordering system and tracking costs of a particular project as well as for organising contacts and e-catalogue of methods and protocols.
L.A.B.A. modules can be used either separately or in combination so that researchers find the best solution for their laboratories and facilities. Each module has been developed by consulting experienced researchers which resulted in user friendly and intuitive interfaces. Special care was taken to avoid redundant data input, assure quick access to required information and enable easy update and analysis of data in every module.
Access to L.A.B.A. is via web browser (e.g. Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer) and secured with user name and password. Users can therefore safely access data from any computer connected to internet and no software installation on local PC is required. L.A.B.A. is especially advantageous for research groups with a larger number of members or for collaborative research groups who want to safely and efficiently share numerous information about reagents and methods.
